FIELD: organic chemistry. SUBSTANCE: present invention describes compound of general formula (1) given in the specification wherein n is 0 or 1; R₁, R₆ are hydrogen or halogen atom; C₁-C₆-alkyl, C₁-C₆-alkoxy or di((C₁-C₆)) alkylamino groups; R₂, R₅ are hydrogen or halogen atom, C₁-C₆-alkoxy or hydroxy groups; R₃, R₄ are hydrogen atom or C₁-C₆ alkoxy group; R₇=R₈=R₉ are hydrogen atom, or R₇+R₉ are (CH₂)_1-3 and R₈ is H, which are useful as synthones in organic synthesis, more particularly in synthesis of fluorescent dyes, luminophores, sensitizers of photographic and electrophotographic materials, semiconductors for synthesis of thermo- and photochromic compounds, ligands for producing β-metal diketonates having valuable physical and chemical properties. The claimed method comprises reacting substituted methyl (methylene) ketones (n = 0) or 1.3 detoenols (n = 1) with substituted benzaldehydes in the presence of perchloric acid and triethylorthoformate.
