FIELD: chemistry of polymers. SUBSTANCE: present invention describes method of suspension styrene polymerization which comprises preparing aqueous stabilizer solution containing magnesium hydroxide and surfactant, mixing styrene containing radical initiator with aqueous stabilizer solution, dispersing the resulting reaction mixture and polymerizing it at 80-130 C. The aqueous stabilizer solution further contains polyvinyl alcohol and sodium polyphosphate, the ratio of components being as follows (wt%): magnesium hydroxide 0.025-0.1; 0.008-0.05 polyvinyl alcohol; 0.025 sodium polyphosphate; and the desalted water balance.
