FIELD: manufacture of films, prostheses, cylindrical rods, sheet materials and panels. SUBSTANCE: homogeneous composite comprises (%): 25.5-92.0 ultrahigh molecular weight linear polyethylene with molecular weight of at least 400,000 and melting point of crystallites of above 143 C. Polyethylene can be melted at temperature by at least 3 C lower when melted for second time and has crystalline morphology manifested in bimodal distribution parameter of making up molecular chains in crystalline lattice, and 8.0-7-4.5 at least one filler having surface varying from neutral to acid one. Homogeneous composite is prepared by heating initial mixture of ultrahigh molecular weight linear polyethylene and filler in inert atmosphere to temperature of at least 180 C sufficient to melt polyethylene and by pressing at this temperature under pressure of at least 280 MPa for at least 2 minutes, by decreasing temperature to 173 C or lower with pressure maintained at 280 MPa. Temperature decreasing rate is such that no temperature gradients exist in the composite, by rapidly cooling the composite to temperature below 100 C with pressure maintained so as to avoid repeated melting of polyethylene. EFFECT: improved properties of the composite. 13 cl, 7 tbl
