FIELD: wind-power engineering; plants for ships converting wind energy into rotary motion of ship propeller. SUBSTANCE: wind-power plant has mast 1 with sails 2, transmission 4, and prime mover or other energy converter 5. Mast 1 is installed for rotation in bearings 8 about its longitudinal symmetry axis and is coupled with prime mover 5 through transmission 4; sails 2 are symmetrically arranged around mast 1. Minimum three sails are installed. Each sail 2 is free to turn about axis 3 set at certain angle α to longitudinal axis of mast 1 and its axes of revolution 3 divide it into two unequal parts. Part of larger area of each sail is located between axis of revolution and longitudinal axis of mast. Sail 2 can turn through maximum 180 deg. Angle of intersection of longitudinal axis of mast 1 and direction of axes of revolution 3 of sails 2 is between 5 and 30 deg. Area of sail smaller part makes up 10 to 30% of entire area of sail. EFFECT: improved design. 3 cl, 10 dwg
