FIELD: powder metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to manufacturing fibers and needle or scale powder by way of solidification of melt on rotating crystallizer and may be applied for preparing metals and alloys in microcrystalline state with metastable structure and supersaturated concentration of alloying elements to reduce macro- and micro- liquation and to decrease grain size owing to high cooling rates. Distinguishing feature of invention resides in melting material using radiation from heating sources which are placed on opposite sides of each working edge of disk.
