FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy, particularly, to production of foundry composite based on aluminium alloy hardened by short fibres and can be used as structural materials in production of aircraft equipment. Proposed composite comprises matrix of aluminium alloy Al-Mg-Si and reinforcer in amount of up to 25 vol. % composed by 2-5 mm long reinforcing fibres produced by high-rate solidification of the melt of composition identical to that matrix or titanium alloys.
EFFECT: high strength, decreased weight, good rust resistance.
