FIELD: arc welding with nonconsuming electrodes; thermochemical electrodes for gas shielded arc welding. SUBSTANCE: electrode has conducting body in which high heat conducting holder with active insert is installed, and cooling tube. Place of holder-to-body connection is located between two sections of electrode passed square to axis of electrode through top of holder and through end face of outlet bell of cooling tube. Tube is made telescopic, and end face of its bell is provided with stops. EFFECT: increased service life of plasma generators, improved reliability and reduced consumption of materials in short supply for production of electrodes. 1 dwg
