FIELD: coke industry. SUBSTANCE: test charges are composed with different contents of components. Then weighed samples of components are prepared. Coal of a specified sort is admitted as standard charge. Each component of test and standard charges are coked separately. Obtained cokes are individually disintegrated and successively loaded into chromatographic column. Through layer of loaded coke, vapors of model hydrocarbon (naphtene, paraffin, mono-, and polycyclic aromatic series) compounds in order of their boiling temperature rise are passed in helium flow. From chromatographic data, adsorption isotherms, amount of hydrocarbon adsorbed, and summary volume of mesopores from each charge component for all model compounds are determined. Curve of dependence of summary coke mesopore volume logarithms is plotted versus metamorphism stage of coal subjected to coking process. Values of these logarithms for cokes from test charges are then calculated. Conformity of test charge with optimal composition is judged about on the basis of minimum deviation of calculated logarithm values from value of summary volume of mesopores for coke obtained from standard charge.
