FIELD: material testing. SUBSTANCE: method involves passing through crystals of material under analysis a set of mononuclear aromatic substances in descending order of their ionization potentials in the temperature range from 20 C to , but not greater than 180 C, where Tmelt is melting temperature of the material under analysis. Thereafter, linear relation binding the quantity of model compound absorbed by the sample and specific absorbed volume for the whole set of model compounds is determined and the number of π-active centers in material under analysis is determined from the length of segment cut off by this relation on the axis of ordinates. Toluene, m-ethyltoluene, m- and p-xylene and pseudocumene are used as model compounds. EFFECT: enhanced information capacity of material testing. 1 cl, 3 dwg, 2 tbl
