FIELD: mechanical engineering, particularly petroleum and gas winning and processing industries; may be used in designing new Christmas trees, pipeline header and hydraulic system valves. SUBSTANCE: faces of inserts disposed opposite to tapered plug are concentrically grooved to receive packing member of uniform profile. Annular grooves available on cylindrical shanks of tapered plug are designed to accommodate packing rings. The formed gap is equal to 20% of the size of allowable deformation of uniform-profile packing members. The packing members ensure sealing in both open and closed positions of the valve. Flow of fluid in the gap will balance the pressure forces and makes rotation of the plug easier. EFFECT: ease of valve operation. 1 dwg
