METHOD FOR ESTABLISHING INDICATIONS FOR TREATMENT OF BRONCHIAL ASTHMA CASES Russian patent published in 1997 - IPC

FIELD: medicine; pulmonology. SUBSTANCE: patient's blood is subjected to chemiluminescence analysis in order to determine chemiluminescent indices characterizing generation of active forms of oxygen in system with luminol (basal chemiluminescent index) and oxygen generated by reaction promoted by silicon dioxide (stimulated chemiluminescent index). Analysis is carried out on leucocytes suspended in buffer-diluted physiological solution and in own blood plasma. Analysis is carried out before and after exposing patient's blood to effect 8% of CO and 20% of CO. Variations is indices are calculated and their decline down to 30% is assumed to be equal to 1, down to 30-60% - to 2, and decline below 60% - to 3, total number of indices being 8. Sum total of 22-24 represents indication for hypercapnotherapy, whereas sum total of 19 and less testifies to potentially low efficiency of hypercapnotherapy. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 2 tbl
