FIELD: electrical engineering, manufacture of compact gaseous-discharge lamps, mainly, luminescent lamps. SUBSTANCE: lamp comprises lamp holder carrying starting-controlling unit mounted on it through contact connections, and gas-tight glass envelope with luminophor coat and electrodes inserted into it. Glass envelope is filled with vapors and gases to maintain discharge and is made of large number of elementary sections grouped into autonomous regions. Elementary sections in each of them are rigidly interconnected. Surface and size of each section can be selected within wide limits, protrusions of unspecified shape can be made on their surfaces or surfaces of part pf sections can be frozen. Inner surfaces of part of sections can be coated with luminophor and/or additional reflecting coat. Additional electrodes to keep autonomous discharge between them connected to commutator of their pre-set switching on can be inserted into part of sections. Collection of elementary sections and starting-controlling unit can be placed in unspecified manner in limited space and be interconnected and connected to lamp holder by means of connectors made from row of contacting plates and/or rods.
