FIELD: electrovacuum engineering. SUBSTANCE: fluorescent lamp has long sealed cylindrical envelope with gaseous-discharge region whose inner surface is covered with phosphor, exhaust tube and current leads being fixed to envelope. Lamp is characterized in that glass shells of current leads are paddle- shaped, their length L1, being chosen with respect to lamp length L2 in the range of 0,28≤(L1+αL2)/L2≤1,6, where α is experimental coefficient depending on type of envelope material and its thickness ranging within 0,27≤α≤1,3. Maximal paddle width L3 is chosen relative to envelope maximal thickness L4 within 0,47≤(L3+αL4)/L4≤3,5. Provided on outer surfaces of paddles on each current lead at distances L5 from current-lead paddle end within the range of 0,53≤(L5+βL1)/L1≤2,4 are grooves, L6 in length and L7 in depth, chosen with respect to maximal cross-sectional area L8 of sealed metal current lead within 1,2≤(L6+L7+βL8)/L8≤8,7, respectively, where β is experimental coefficient chosen depending on type of material and thickness of metal current lead within the range of 0,23≤β≤1,7. Flat surfaces of current-lead paddles on opposite ends of lamp are disposed at angle A relative to each other within the range of 0°≤A≤90°.
