SUBSTANCE: in the method of generating optical radiation, excitation and de-excitation of excited atoms or molecules of a gas and the working medium takes place in a gas discharge. Transfer of energy to the gas discharge from the power supply for maintaining the gas discharge and loss compensation takes place in a gas-discharge chamber which is equipped with an inductor and multiple inductors and electrodes, simultaneously owing to electromagnetic induction from the inductor or multiple inductors of the induction discharge of high or medium frequency or electrical eddy currents of the closed transformer-type induction discharge of medium or low frequency and from direct or alternating current which flows through electrodes of the gas-discharge chamber.

EFFECT: high efficiency of generating optical radiation.
