FIELD: electrical engineering. SUBSTANCE: electrical machine has corrugates sheet-steel frame with hollow ribs forming inner axial cooling ducts. Open end shields provide for arrangement of cooling system depending for its operation on direct heat transfer from active parts of machine by atmospheric air. High thermal contact between stator stack and frame is ensured due to high conductance of welded joints between them. Atmospheric cooling air flows through inner cooling dusts of frame and air stream formed by these ducts releases heat not only from stator stack but also from extended surfaces of duct walls thereby intensifying heat transfer from stator stack surface. EFFECT: improved cooling efficiency, reduced material input, improved reliability and service life of machines, provision for unifying total enclosed and protected machines. 2 dwg
