FIELD: pulse engineering; feeding pulse frequency loads, such as high-power pulsed gas lasers and heavy-current nanosecond accelerators with high pulse repetition rate. SUBSTANCE: device has first storage capacitor and thyristor switch connected to primary winding of pulse transformer, load shorted out by capacitor and inductance coil, N series-connected magnetic-compression sections inserted between pulse transformer secondary winding and load. Each magnetic-compression section incorporates, in addition, series-connected second storage capacitors. Each section has output magnetic switches. Pulse transformer secondary winding is connected in parallel with first storage capacitor of first magnetic-compression section. Leads of output magnetic switches, except for last one, are connected to point of connection of first and second storage capacitors of next sections. Lead of output magnetic switch of last section is connected to load. Additional magnetic switches are connected in parallel with first storage capacitor of each magnetic section, except for first one. Two-fold voltage increase is provided in device while energy is transferred from one section to other and output voltage is 2N times higher than input voltage, where N is number of compression sections. Capacitor charge current for each section automatically reverse polarity of magnetic-switch cores. EFFECT: increased output voltage during magnetic compression of pulses; simplified design. 1 dwg
