FIELD: plastic metal working, namely manufacture of slit members of water preparation filter for cleaning supply water of power plants (water heaters). SUBSTANCE: apparatus for making slit member includes mounted in frame according to manufacturing process: cartridge with wound tape of predetermined size, mechanism for perforating tape according to shape of draining pipe for further welding, mechanism for cutting off shaped tape. Apparatus is provided with mechanism for centering tape in horizontal and vertical planes, pickup for measuring slit size and pickup for measuring length. Said mechanism for perforating tape is in the form of unit with shaping drive rolls. Working surface of one of said rolls is in the form of punching teeth, working surface of other roll is in the form of die surfaces engaging with punches at rotation of rolls.
