FIELD: metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: method includes covering metal carrier with intermediate coating containing aluminium oxide and fusing depleted uranium and its alloys onto this surface. Novelty resides in that, as carrier, stainless steel container is utilized constructed as an external sealing shell for an object, and intermediate coating additionally contains ortho-phosphoric acid, fluorite, chromic anhydride, and water, the total make-up of coating being as follows (in wt %): ortho-phosphoric acid, 14-19; aluminium oxide, 6-11; fluorite, 39-52; chromic anhydride, 14-19; water, the balance. Coating is applied onto inner surface of shell followed by drying and heat treatment, and fusing uranium and its alloys is effected by way of pouring the latter into container.
