FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: article for protection from uranium radioactive radiation is made from mechanically treated depleted uranium or its alloys with an outer insulating shell in form of a coating. The article is made from recycled metal and the shell is made in form of a 10-100 mcm zinc coating which contains uranium and zinc intermetallic compounds, with U2Zn17 content not less than 0.01 wt %.
EFFECT: more reliable biological protection of service personnel and the environment from uranium radioactive radiation.
