METHOD OF MANUFACTURE OF TIRE WITH STUDDED TREAD Russian patent published in 1997 - IPC

FIELD: manufacture of products from plastic materials. SUBSTANCE: the offered method consists in cutting of socket in tread by tool in form of tube with sharp cutting edge and installation in produced seat of stud. Seat is made with large diameter at tread surface and its base by cutting to depth of 20-30% of tread thickness preliminarily compressed in thickness by 70-80%. Tread member is squeezed by clamp in form of tube with rounded edges. Upon attainment of compression value of 70-80% of thickness of tread member, seat for stud is out by axial motion of tool in form of thin-walled tube with sharp cutting edge located inside clamp and stud is pushed into seat. EFFECT: provision of method ensuring operations without wastes and tool heating that improves ecological labour conditions with simultaneous increase of reliable holding of stud in tire tread. 9 dwg
