FIELD: chemistry of polymers, agrochemistry. SUBSTANCE: copolymerization of acrylic acid or acrylic acid and acrylamide with water-soluble polysaccharide allyl ester of the general formula: [C6H7O2(OH)3-x-y-(R1)x-(R2)y]n where: R1 - O-(CH2-CH2O)z-H, O-CH2--COONa, O-(-CH2-CHCH3O)z-H, OCH3, O-CH2-CH-SO3-Na, NH2, OH; R2 - O-CH2-CH=CH2; x = 0.5-2.5; y = 0.05-1.1; z = 1.5-3; n = 50-3050 is carried out in the presence of radical initiating agent of two-component system containing cobalt (III) acetate and alkaline metal or ammonium persulfate at their mole ratio = (1: 0.5)-(1:60) in an aqueous solution at temperature changing in the process of polymerization from 50 to 130 C and at concentration of cobalt (III) acetate (0.05-0.7) x 10-3 M, alkaline metal or ammonium persulfate - (0.35-3.0) x 10-3 M, water-soluble polysaccharide allyl ester - 0.03-5.0 wt.-% and comonomers - 15-40 wt.-%.
