FIELD: organic chemistry, polymers. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to new superabsorbents synthesized on the basis of copolymers of an acrylic acid and its ammonium salt with styrene and with additions of aluminomagnesial silicate of the formula: where A = 37.58-59.16; B = 29.17-50.34; C = 11.67-12.08 mole%. Superabsorbent is synthesized by copolymerization of an acrylic acid with styrene at 100-120 C in the presence of ammonia, potassium persulfate and aluminomagnesial silicate at molar ratio acrylic acid : styrene : ammonia : potassium persulfate = 1: 0.1:0.25:0.05 where aluminomagnesial silicate is taken at amount 0.13-10.3 wt. -%. Water-absorption coefficients of absorbents (α,) are measured 2553-4000 g/g. Value α depends on aluminomagnesial silicate concentration in copolymer composition. Synthesized superabsorbent exhibits high water-absorption coefficient. EFFECT: high quality and property of new copolymer. 7 ex
