FIELD: treatment of hydroxyfunctional polyols. SUBSTANCE: hydroxyfunctional polyethers containing 1A and 2A group metal ions in amount of not more than 200 ppm, treated with acid soluble in said polyether or present in such concentration that it forms stable emulsion in said polyether above solubility level in amount sufficient for neutralization of metal ions to form salt in amount that does not allow promotion of trimerization of isocyanate when the latter is reacted with said polyether.
