ANTITUMOR ANTIBIOTIC WMU-46164 AND A METHOD OF ITS PRODUCING Russian patent published in 1997 - IPC

FIELD: microbiology, antibiotics. SUBSTANCE: antibiotic "ВМУ"-46164 isolated from fermentation product of the strain Actinomadura ATCC 53806 has empirical formula C₄₀H₄₃N₂O₁₂C, molecular mass 778 and shows antitumor activity. Method of antibiotic preparing involves fermentation of the strain-producer, filtration of cultural fluid, mixing filtrate with DEAE-cellulose. Mixture is cooled, DEAE-cellulose is separated by filtration, washed its with buffer and extracted with mixture of organic substances. Extract is filtered, sorbent is washed with organic solvent, filtrates were combined, water is added. Organic layer is separated and concentrated followed by isolation and purification of the end product. EFFECT: improved method of antibiotic producing and purification. 4 cl, 4 dwg, 2 tbl
