FIELD: measurement technology, measurement of concentration of oil products in industrial sewage, in water of purification stations, in separation installations. SUBSTANCE: method can be used for current monitoring of separation plants and their purifying capabilities. In agreement with proposed method continuous film is formed from oil products in the field of centrifugal forces in process of uninterrupted supply of analyzed water into one of combined chambers of hollow tubular centrifuge on to free surface of water. Film of specified thickness is formed from separated oil products continuously supplied into other chamber of centrifuge. Then films of oil products from both chambers are subjected to discrete ultraviolet irradiation and information on present concentration of oil products is obtained as result of comparison and processing of averaged secondary discrete radiation which intensity is determined by thickness of film of oil products extracted from volume of analyzed medium and physico-chemical properties of separated oil products which ensures diminished measurement error and reproducibility of results independent of duration and conditions of measurements.
