FIELD: tests and examinations in any branches of economy, specifically, in chemical-recovery carbonization and glass making. SUBSTANCE: interference dilatometer makes it possible to perform determination of small values of temperature coefficient of linear expansion (2•10-8-5•10-6K-1) with high accuracy and timely on specimens of simple configuration. It incorporates light source - laser 1, optical system 2 to form parallel beam of monochromatic light, furnace-thermostat 14, device recording interference picture, holder 13 if specimen made from material with known temperature coefficient of linear expansion and Fizeau interferometer. Upper butt of holder 13 and lower surface of interference plate 12 are reflecting surfaces of Fizeau interferometer. Two supports are located on holder 13 for interference plate, specimen installed in holder is used as third support. Dilatometer is fitted with wedge-like adjustment plate 4 used in the capacity of lower support of specimen which is mounted for rotation about its axis and for adjustment of angle of lower surface of interference plate with upper butt of holder by its. Two supports for interference plate on upper butt of holder 13 are made as one unit. EFFECT: increased accuracy of dilatometer. 2 dwg, 2 tbl
