FIELD: foundry. SUBSTANCE: method involves making model in accordance with Shaw process; placing model in box made from fire-resistant material; filling box with mixture of steel shots and activated carbon; placing weight and positioning box into furnace; heating furnace to provide diffusion welding of shots; cooling and applying heat-insulating layer to cooled surface of mold. Mold produced by such method has low thermal conductivity. EFFECT: increased efficiency and improved quality of mold. 3 dwg
