FIELD: control of powered complexes and units operating on steep beds. SUBSTANCE: method includes alternating advance of base beam with tail ends and support units, and turning of tail ends and units relative to base beam to side opposite to direction of displacement of base beam in its advance. Turning of tail ends and support units are carried out before advance of base beam. In course of advance of base beam, with its displacement, all tail ends are turned relative to base beam through value of free gap between tail ends and support units. The device for embodiment of the offered method includes base beam which consists of links with tail ends in form of bell-cranks which are hinged to base beam and have locking mechanism and displacing hydraulic jacks. The latter are installed between tail ends and support units. Locking mechanism is installed in arm of bell-crank on the side of base beam and made in form of double-action hydraulic jack. Its body may have stops located in fork made on the end of tail end. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 2 cl, 4 dwg
