DEEP-WELL SUCKER-ROD PUMP Russian patent published in 1997 - IPC

FIELD: oil production; deep-well sucker-rod pumps for pumping liquids at considerable content of abrasive admixtures out of wells of considerable curvilinearity. SUBSTANCE: pump includes cylinder with hollow plunger movably located in it. Plunger is provided with sets of seals made from polymer sealants and metal spring rings. Outer surface of plunger is provided with recess which forms circular chamber for lubricant together with wall of cylinder and sets of seals. Each set of seals consists of two polymer seals made in form of collars possessing different hardness. Collars are provided with selling jaws and two metal spring rings. Collars are mounted on webs of plunger bounding the recess. Softer collars are positioned on side of circular chamber. Surface of sealing jaws which is in contact with cylinder is made at angle of 6-7 deg to it. Metal spring rings protect collars against external pressure of column of liquid being handled.
