FIELD: gas cleaning in metallurgical, chemical, etc. SUBSTANCE: proposed apparatus is constituted by Venturi scrubber comprising deflector-drip pan. Latter is provided on its inner side with magnetic blocks adapted to generate high-energy magnetic fields. As is common knowledge, efficiency of wet scrubbers depends on two factors: firstly, on gas flow velocity through active section of scrubber, and, secondly, on specific consumption of liquid used to irrigate gas. Proprietary design of proposed apparatus makes it possible to vary both of these factors independently from one another, thereby creating any suitable hydrodynamic conditions for interacting phases. Apparatus can be used for neutralizing toxic gases, for cooling, absorption and dedusting of off-gases resulting from metallurgical, chemical and other industries. Apparatus can be used for carrying out heat- and mass-exchange processes in gas-liquid system. EFFECT: apparatus is multi-purpose one, since it can be used to carry out any heat- and mass-exchange processes; it is money-saving, since it necessitates low liquid consumption due to its multiple re-uses. 3 cl, 2 dwg
