FIELD: chemical engineering. SUBSTANCE: reactor is proposed in two alternative embodiments. Regardless of specific alternative, any proposed hydrodynamic cavitation reactor comprises, arranged in series, contraction and through- flow chamber. Latter houses plurality of cavitators, while its interior is made as plurality of sections step-wise expanding in direction away from contraction, cross-section area of each subsequent section being greater than that of preceding section by factor 1.05-1.45. According to second alternative embodiment, cavitators are arranged on longitudinal rod extending along reactor axis. EFFECT: invention offers happy design for carrying out cavitation processes. 6 cl, 2 dwg
