FIELD: filters.

SUBSTANCE: proposed is a filtering unit for dividing suspension particles by size, consisting of a porous tubular frame, located on the outer surface whereof is a microporous substrate with a semi-permeable membrane, wherein a hydrodynamic cavitation reactor is installed inside the tubular element, made in the form of a sleeve with a variable cross-section, consisting of a confuser and a flow chamber arranged consecutively, the cavity of the flow chamber is made in the form of a cylindrical section and a diffuser, a conical cavitator is installed inside the diffuser, wherein the angle at the top of the cone of the diffuser whereon the cavitator is located is 5 to 10 degrees less than the angle at the top of the cone of the cavitator, and the length of the cylindrical section is equal to the diameter thereof.

EFFECT: increase in the quality of dividing suspension particles by size, the productivity of the membrane process of dividing suspensions by particle size, the efficiency of cleaning the membrane from the layer of microparticles and large mechanical impurities detained thereby, increase in the permeability and selectivity of the membrane, reduction in the duration of the filtration process.
