FIELD: foundry. SUBSTANCE: method involves treating pellets made from nondeformed aluminum alloys with chemical reactants to remove oxide film; charging pellets in inert gas atmosphere into preliminarily vacuumized mold; delivering aluminum melt under excessive gas pressure. Apparatus has low-pressure die casting unit, mold with cores and inserts, grid made from high-strength metal and laid onto outer surface of mold cavity adjacent to location, where melt is delivered into mold. Grid mesh has size less than diameter of pellet. EFFECT: wider operational capabilities and improved quality of aluminum castings. 3 cl, 2 dwg
