FIELD: manufacture of elevators. SUBSTANCE: elevator has frame 2 with elevator power drive disposed over car 10 with cross-piece and counterweight 11 connected with the car by pull ropes passed over drive pulley 5 and deflecting pulley 3 and mounted for movement relative to the axis of the framework. The framework is made of ferrous rolled bars and/or channels and is connected with guides 12 of the elevator car and with counterweight with the aid of brackets 13 having movable and immovable parts. Position of counterweight in vertical plane is adjusted by deflecting pulley 3 mounted on bracket 13, which is capable of movement in horizontal and vertical directions on the elevator frame with the power drive.
