FIELD: lift building. SUBSTANCE: lift has at least one vertical guide secured on base of lift well on which lift cabin is installed for longitudinal travel, cabin travel-motion drive, arresters to stop cabin on guide when cabin speed exceeds maximum tolerable value and consisting of links installed for engagement with guide, arresters engagement mechanism and device for setting arresters into action coupled with arrester engagement mechanism. Lift has rotatable stop mounted on cabin and secured on shaft for turning from inoperative position into operating position for engagement with stop fixed in lift well when cabin stops opposite to story landing and cabin floor is lower than landing, at a distance from landing close to maximum tolerable distance. Shaft mentioned above is installed on support mounted on cabin for turning around horizontal axis and coupled with arresters engagement mechanism.
