FIELD: flotation processes and waste water purification. SUBSTANCE: emphasis is placed on removing suspended particles from natural water and petroleum products, fats, suspended substances, and surfactants from household, industrial, and rain drains. Quantitative characteristics of inlet and outlet streams are measured and compared with standards. From the results of comparison, dimensions of reaction zone of flotator are corrected until quantitative characteristics of outlet stream meet those of standard. Apparatus additionally contains: moveable flotator wall installed on guides and connected with bar of hydraulic cylinder; distribution valve; turbidity meters; driver; comparator; summator; controlling device; and controlled timer.
