FIELD: chemical engineering. SUBSTANCE: distinguishing feature of invention resides in that liquid-air mixture is introduced in countercurrent relation to the vector of velocity of liquid under treatment and treatment of liquid is conducted in the field of variable velocities of its movement, the lowest of them being depicted by formula v where v is velocity of movement of liquid in flotation separator, m/s; ν kinematic viscosity of liquid, sq.m/s; and R is hydraulic radius of separator, v; whereas dozed needed reagents are added to liquid under treatment in the zone of its maximum velocity. Method is implemented on installation supplemented with floatation reactor smoothly expanding upwards and containing: central hole in its bottom part; auger-like blade; cylindrical connecting pipe; diffuser; collector; small tanks with pipelines and shut-off valves in them; delivery cylindrical connecting pipe with nozzle; air-saturated liquid-supply pipeline; windows with louvers opened inward the floatation separator from above and connecting floatation separator with side pocket; connections of shut-off valves with control unit. Method, in particular, can be used household-drinking and industrial water supply areas to produce high-purity water. EFFECT: enhanced process efficiency. 2 cl, 1 dwg
