FIELD: chemistry of polymers. SUBSTANCE: alpha-olefin copolymerization is carried out in the presence of catalyst consisting of organoaluminium compound, solid component and additional compound such as C4-C18--alkoxysilane derivative (0.05-3.00 moles per 1 mole of organoaluminium compound). Solid catalyst is prepared by reacting hydrocarbon solution of magnesium compound selected from group consisting of magnesium chloride. C2-C16- dialkoxymagnesium and C1-C10- alkoxymagnesium chloride, liquid titanium compound of general formula: Ti(OR)qCl4-q wherein R is C1-C10-alkyl, q=0.1 or 4, at least one election donor, during or after formation of solid product C8-C30-dicarboxylic acid ester at molar ratio with magnesium compound from 0.05: 1.00 to 0.50:1. Molecular weight regulator is hydrogen. EFFECT: more efficient preparation method. 2 cl, 1 dwg, 36 tbl
