METHOD OF PRODUCING HIGH-OCTANE GASOLINE COMPONENT Russian patent published in 1997 - IPC

FIELD: gasoline production. SUBSTANCE: high-octane gasoline component containing tert-alkyl alcohol(s) and alkyl-tert-alkyl ether(s) is produced by way of bringing in contact hydrocarbon mixture containing isoolefin(s) with water and alkanol(s) in presence of heterogeneous acid catalyst in flow reactor followed by isolation of target product by rectification. Distinguishing feature of invention consists in submitting isoolefin/water mixture with water at isoolefin mole ratio from 0.1 to 5.0 to hydration reaction in presence of acid catalyst in flow reactor, whereupon hydration product obtained containing tert- alkanol(s) and hydrocarbons is brought in contact with alkanol(s) to produce alkyl-tert-alkyl ether(s).
