FIELD: nondestructive testing, detection of flaws in current conductive articles with nonconductive nonmagnetic coat of variable thickness. SUBSTANCE: gear detecting flaws in current conductive articles has self-excited oscillator with eddy-current converter in the circuit, emitter follower and indication unit connected in series. It is provided with capacitor and inductance coil composed of two windings placed in series opposition connected in parallel. Windings are inductively coupled to winding of eddy-current converter. Article is tested by scanning of its surface with eddy-current converter. EFFECT: increased efficiency of detection of flaws. 4 dwg
