FIELD: shipbuilding. SUBSTANCE: method includes centering of shaft line by moving the bearings in height and checking their position by loads; centering of shaft line with main engine is effected by relative position of their shafts. Then bending moment and shear force at flanged joint of shaft line and main engine are measured. Measurements are made when engine is cold and when engine is warmed up to working temperature with the aid of relative deformation sensors or displacement sensors mounted symmetrically relative to flanged joint. In course of measurements, sensors are set in upper position and magnitudes of relative deformation are noted, after which shafts are turned through 180 deg and again magnitudes of relative deformation are noted. Magnitudes of bending moment and shear force are determined through calculation. EFFECT: enhanced reliability. 2 cl, 1 dwg
