SUBSTANCE: method involves determination of resistance (sensitivity) of staphylococci isolating as pure culture from nasal mucous of bacterium-carriers to bactericidal factors providing antiinfectious resistance state. Commercial preparation of leukocyte interferon is used as bactericidal factor. Resident cultures of the golden staphylococcus were considered to be that showing resistance to interferon at dilution 1:20 and less, and epidermal staphylococcus at dilution 1:80 at less; transitory cultures: at dilutions 1:80 and above and 1:320 and above, respectively.
