FIELD: metallurgical industry. SUBSTANCE: this is used in casting engineering for melting iron-carbon alloys. Electric slag furnace has body with current-conducting lining, and non-consumable electrode installed for possible displacement. Installed inside furnace body with clearance is additional crucible made of current-conducting material. Made in lower part of aforesaid crucible are through-passages. Furnace is also provided with cramps adapted for their positioning in molten metal in clearance between furnace body and wall of additional crucible by means of vertically movable mechanism.
