TRAFFIC SAFETY RADAR FOR CARS Russian patent published in 1997 - IPC

Abstract RU 2092869 C1

FIELD: short-range radars, in particular, detectors of alarm system which informs drivers about crash accident possibility. SUBSTANCE: device has single oscillator which outputs signal to earth using side lobe of single-beam antenna in order to calculate car speed using Doppler frequency shift. Another radio signal is shaped as short pulses which are sent by same antenna towards car movement direction. Computer estimates current distance and approaching speed for objects and current speed of car and alarms when these values reach critical condition which leads to risk of contact with mobile or stationary object. EFFECT: increased safety of car movement in traffic, increased efficiency of breaking car which is equipped with automatic braking system. 1 dwg
