FIELD: photographic industry. SUBSTANCE: emulsion with microcrystal size 0.25 to 1 mcm and silver iodide content 3-4 mol % is manufactured by way of fractional emulsifying, physical crystallization, isolation of solid phase with sulfopolystyrene, washing precipitate, dispersing precipitate by distilled water, redispersing precipitate in water- gelatin solution, adjusting pBr to 2.9 ± 0.1 and pH to 6.7 + 0.1, chemical crystallization with sodium thiosulfate and gold thiocyanate, and getting emulsion ready to pouring. According to invention, in redispersing or chemical crystallization stage, ethyl acrylate- metacrylic acid copolymer is added in quantity 50-150 g per 1 kg of emulsion.
