FIELD: electrical engineering, heavy-current vacuum switches. SUBSTANCE: contact system of proposed switch is composed of main contact positioned on current carrying rod made from soft-resistant material which ensures passage of rated current under insufficient contact pressure and arc-resistant contact embracing main one mounted on resilient spiral elements. With passage of current through them with main contact being broken there is created axial field which enhanced disconnecting capability. Resilience of spiral elements provides for closing of arc-resistant contact in three points which diminishes three times effort of throw-away of contacts in case of passage of supercurrent as effort of throw-away is directly proportional to the square of current. EFFECT: enhanced operational efficiency and safety. 1 dwg
