MICROFILTER FOR DECONTAMINATION OF RADIACTIVE DISCHARGES Russian patent published in 1997 - IPC

Abstract RU 2093247 C1

FIELD: decontamination of radiactive discharges through separation of bacteria by filtration which use plutonium, caesium and transuranium element radionuclides as culture medium. SUBSTANCE: bacteria biomasses are fed to filtering non-rigid partition 8 mounted between upper and lower disks 6 and 7 respectively fitted on drive shaft 5. During rotation of partition on drive shaft, water is separated and bacteria are held by electric field of partition to which electric current is fed through commutators 13 and 14. When vibrations are imparted to partition, vertical contact 15 deforms partition by means of vertical rod 12 and horizontal rod 10, thus unloading bacteria concentrate through lower base 9 and discharging them through branch pipe 4. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency. 4 dwg
