POLISHING-GRINDING MACHINE FOR TREATING CURVILINEAR PIPES Russian patent published in 1997 - IPC

FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: machine is used for grinding and polishing of outer surfaces of curvilinear pipes of various configuration and with several radiused bends. Machine has base frame, swinging motion drive unit, and spindle head which are installed symmetrically relative to axis of pipe being treated on guide posts with screw feed unit having spherical nut. In addition, machine is provided with supports and installed in them is hollow shaft which carries cradle intended for fixing guide posts with possible swinging motion of spindle heads around axis of pipe being treated. Aforesaid shaft and supports are made with through-slots along their axis. Shaft axis and oscillation axis are aligned with pipe axis in zone of treatment. Provided in machine are hollow rods which accommodate mechanisms for resilient pressing-off of spindle unit of head installed on rods with possibility of rectilinear movement equal to value of resilient pressing-off distance.
