FIELD: armament of surface ships. SUBSTANCE: method involves firing at surface and shoreside targets one or several launching rails of launcher are loaded with ballistic homing missile identical in mass and dimensions and thrust characteristics with those of torpedo missiles of the complex. Target range, its course and speed are determined by radar means and introduced into computing system of fire-control system. Introduced also into computing system of fire-control system are course, speed and angles of rocking of own ship, and data on atmospheric conditions. Subject to calculations are target lead position, missile range and firing angle. During laying, all rails of launcher are set at constant angle of elevation relative to ship deck, and ship is turned through angle of firing. Simultaneously, angular velocity of ship turn and deviation of set angle of elevation of rails relative to horizon due to pitching are determined. Depending on calculated missile range, introduced into apparatuses are data on moment of cutting off the engine thrust with correction for deviation of set angle of rail. Command for missile launching is given at the moment leading the moment of completion of ship turn for a time equals the time interval from giving command for launching up to missile leaving the rail. EFFECT: higher efficiency.
