FIELD: application of metal and nonmetal coats. SUBSTANCE: method involves preparing surface; applying one or several coats of solid materials by rotary flexible brush positioned for engagement with applied coat material, which is moved relative to brush in tightened state; transmitting progressive movement to brush along part and transmitting rotational movement to part; regulating speed ratio of brush and part and directions of movement of brush and part under treatment process, as well as variations in progressive movement speed of brush along part axis and/or variations in rotational speed of part, to form coat on part surface. Coat may be made in the form strips oriented at an angle one relative to another and having different thickness and widths so that linear as well as netted patterns may be created. Coat may be formed as locally applied portions of material with different total thickness. EFFECT: increased efficiency, wider operational capabilities and improved quality of coat. 3 cl, 3 dwg
